Synopsis :- This course consists of two interrelated parts: a) Islamic Ethics and Fiqh, b) Fiqh of contemporary issues. The first part focuses on major Islamic ethical and legal concepts and duties such as the core moral values of justice and amanah, the duty of enjoining good and forbidding evils, ethics of peaceful coexistence, ijtihad and schools of Fiqh, five legal rulings, and Maqasid al-Shari ‘ah. The second part discusses the application of ethics and fiqh on contemporary issues such as ethics in dealing with siclmesses, pandemic management, bio-medical, environmental, ICT and financial issues.
