Synopsis :- This course focuses on the meaning, necessity, characteristics and implication of the Islamic worldview and philosophy. The course analyses the significance of the four major constituents of the Islamic worldview, i.e Allah, universe, man and life. It is also analyses selected other worldviews and philosophies, and beginning with highlights of Hellenistic and Christian thought, then progressing into naturalism, secular-humanism and post-modernism in the context of the evolution of Western thought. It deals with some of the contemporary challenges such as globalization, liberalism, and extremism and Muslims’ responses from Islamic perspective.
